ROLE OVERVIEW

My role involved overseeing all aspects of user research, , UX design, and user testing for the first-generation AI platform targeting neurological disorders. Our aim was to achieve faster read times and higher diagnostic accuracy. The platform is now used in support of clinical trials for multiple treatments.

Through thorough user research, strategic product planning, and thoughtful design, we developed a platform that significantly enhanced user satisfaction across the neuroscience community. Early user studies show a 15% increase in EEG read times and a 17% improvement in overall accuracy.

USER RESEARCH WITH NEUROSCIENTISTS

Our user research was comprehensive, involving multiple interviews, direct observation of neuroscientists reading EEGs, and collaborative codesign workshops. We were fortunate to collaborate closely with esteemed neuroscientists from Mass General Hospital and Harvard Medical throughout the project.

Our primary aim was to pinpoint the most tedious and time-consuming tasks essential for diagnosing EEG results. Despite the complexity of their current workflow, we successfully identified several areas where our product could enhance both accuracy and speed.

After grasping the current methods used by neuroscientists, we crafted a fresh digital workflow. This new system harnesses AI to tackle mundane tasks, freeing up valuable time, and enhances the speed of reaching a diagnosis.

Once we had our new digital workflow mapped out, we delved into the integration of AI output within a user-friendly platform that neuroscientists would find appealing. We continuously iterated at this stage, incorporating ongoing user feedback and observing their interactions with our low-fidelity prototypes.
